Quartz for Metallurgy

In metallurgical-grade silicon (MG-Si) production, ferrosilicon (Fe-Si) and silicon metal (Si-Me) furnaces require quartz resistant to thermal shock and fragmentation.

Only material from compact, fracture-free zones is therefore routed to metallurgical products. Fines are screened out before loading to reduce dust losses in the furnace.
